Connie Matz is a renowned north coast artist specializing in oil painting. Not only is Connie a gifted artist, her uniqueness is her ability to teach others. Most artist prefer to paint in seclusion, but Connie enjoys having others surround her while she paints. She has taught at the Gualala Arts Center for 4 years and currently conducts a weekly class. Connie studied art at Fort Steilacoom Community College. She also studied with Wm. F. Reese of the University of Washington but describes herself as mostly self taught. In her own words, "I hope my paintings reflect how much I love the world around me, and will help others to see it in a new way."
